We offer the following Fire Extinguisher Services:
Designed for portability and ease of use, the fire extinguishers we sell and service provide a reliable, defensive option to your home or business safety plan. Because of their quality construction they are found in every setting imaginable: homes, restaurants, data centers, factories, hospitals, schools, aircraft, ground vehicles, substations, farms, etc. However, not all extinguishers are created equal; they are in fact rated for specific uses.
Below is a relationship table for the fire class and its corresponding fuel type. For example, if the chemical agent in an extinguisher is used only against flammables such as wood then the fire extinguisher is labeled Class A. If the chemical agent can be used against both wood and gasoline, then the fire extinguisher is labeled Class AB. Knowing which fire extinguisher to use and how to use it is very important.
FIRE CLASS | FUEL TYPE |
A | Carbon Combustibles e.g. wood, paper, cloth, etc. |
B | Flammable liquids and gases e.g. gasoline, propane, solvents |
C | Energized equipment e.g. transformers, computers, heaters, etc. |
D | Metal and metal alloy combustibles |
K | Cooking oils and fats |
Proactively reading the class labels on an extinguisher could save you from making a bad situation worse. For example, common grease fires can become uncontrollable if using a water extinguisher because water does not put out grease fires but actually can spread the oil out causing other items to catch fire. Instead, a Class K extinguishing agent that smothers the oxygen around the fire and cools the grease is required.
We carry all classes of extinguishers; browse our complete product line to find the class that is right for your needs or ask us, the fire safety experts. We also inspect and service them which might include recharging, hydrotesting, or swapping out for new exinguishers.
